LEADER SERIES: MEET JOHN BOLZANELLO

Handsome barber extraordinaire, meet John Bolzanello. Whose commitment extends beyond his profession; he's a firm believer in the power of fitness to transform lives, advocating a simple yet effective training routine to his friends.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day for me consists of waking up around 6:30am and heading to the local  coffee shop where I will have my black americano and doing some journaling and reading, right after that I will hit the gym for 1 hour, after my work out I hit the shower and get dressed and ready for work, I work as a barber typically 10:00am to 7:00pm where I break my fast with something light like a smoothies around 2:00pm, have nice walk home when I’m done work where I will usually stop by the grocery store to prepare dinner, relax maybe watch some sports on the tv and be in bed by 11:00pm

What is your weekly training routine? How do you break up your training?

My weekly training routine is pretty simple. It consists of:

     - Day 1: Push

     - Day 2: Pull

     - Day 3: Legs

     - Day 4: Rest

   - I then repeat this cycle.

   - I don't do much cardio, but I usually aim at getting around 15,000 steps a day.

What advice do you give to your friends when they ask you how they should start making fitness a priority?

The advice I give is “just show up”. It's always difficult to start something new and a routine when you haven't built that habit up yet. But if you just know your "why" and just keep showing up through the not-so-great workouts and the great ones, next thing you know, it's just a part of who you are.

What is your 10-year vision? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I see myself owning a shop and helping build the next generation of barbers.

How do you prioritize your mental health? What do you do (mentally) that helps you stay so committed and regimented towards achieving your goals?

Mental health is a big one for me because I've had my ups and downs when it's got neglected. I prioritize it by reading at least 10 pages a day of something motivating or spiritual a day. I journal in my 5-minute journal in the morning and at night. And when I'm really flowing, a little bit of meditation goes a long way!

What is your favorite REYAL product?

  1. @Representclo: Representclo is more about lifestyle motivation for fashion and style, so I enjoy seeing the different fashion they showcase.
